Burgundy: One of a Kind
Burgundy's laurels rest on just 2 grapes: the thin
skinned, fickle pinot noir for its reds and the racy chardonnay for its
whites. As Jacques Lardiere of Louis Jadot once told us, the pinot noir
is like a peacock: it has all of the dimensions for a great
red wine in one grape; whereas bordeaux depends on 2, or more, grapes
to make a complete wine. And the chardonnay from Burgundy produces Vins
